Location: Remote, frequent travel

Exemption Status: Exempt

Reports to: Chief Operating Officer

Direct Reports: Destination General Managers

Salary Range: 110k-125k plus commission/bonus

**10 years minimum DMC or Incentive Travel experience required**

 

OVERVIEW:

The VP of Operations reports directly to the COO and is responsible for planning, directing, coordinating, and overseeing the daily operations for a specified collection of destination offices.   They are responsible for ensuring the overall operational effectiveness and profitability of their office collection.   They inform and advise the COO of operational needs and cost-effective practices to meet the current and future needs of the company.

 

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Embody the company’s culture and enliven the company’s vision, mission, and values providing inspired leadership company-wide, but specifically to destination office General Managers
  • Create an environment that promotes great performance and positive employee engagement
  • Communicate effectively and establish credibility throughout the organization as an effective developer of solutions to business challenges
  • Support talent recruitment efforts and develop succession planning for each direct report
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to develop and meet company goals while supplying expertise and guidance on operations projects and practices
  • Collaborates with other divisions to carry out the company’s goals and objectives
  • Identifies, recommends, and implements new processes, technologies, and training to improve and streamline organizational processes
  • Work with field-based General Managers to ensure implementation and alignment of company operational strategies
  • Execute an annual office visit cadence
  • Reviews and provides advice on revenue and profitability reporting for each office
  • Provide advice and approval on contracts, negotiations, or other destination office business transactions as necessary
  • Presents periodic office performance reports to the COO
  • Provides information to the COO on issues affecting the company, specifically regarding growth opportunities, alliances, and partnerships
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

 

 

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to travel as needed.
  • Physical activities include but are not limited to climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, finger use, grasping, and hearing, and seeing.
  • Must be able to exert up to twenty-five (25) pounds, in the amount of force needed to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects up to 25 pounds, up to 50 pounds aided.
  • The employee is required, on a regular basis, to carry objects in his or her arms or on the shoulder(s), up to 25 pounds unaided or 50 pounds aided.
  • Ability to stoop, bend, and climb stairs and ladders as required to perform assigned job function.
  • Ability to view a computer screen for long periods of time.
  • The job requires expressing ideas by the spoken word to communicate, understand and clarify needs expectations and requirements, this is a clear requirement of the effective communication component of the job function.
  • Listening: The job requires the perception of speech and the nature of sounds in the air in order to communicate understand and clarify needs, expectations, and requirements, this is a clear requirement of the effective communication component of the job function.
  • Manual dexterity for operating computer and other office equipment.
