Situated in a high mountain park at 9,000 feet, Winter Park is surrounded by the Arapaho National Forest and three wilderness areas, including Indian Peaks, Byers Peak and Vasquez. Nearby, Colorado’s Rocky Mountain National Park encompasses almost 266,000 acres of natural land and wildlife habitat for all to enjoy. While ranching and agriculture are leading economic producers throughout eastern Grand County, tourism is the main industry here, as the region has quickly become a four season vacation destination. Touted as “Colorado’s favorite playground”, our Winter Park destination is accessed easily from Denver International Airport and is chock full of activities for all ages—children to inner child alike—from January through December.
