A life-sized jewelry box? Now there’s some dazzling inspiration! During RMC’s latest partnership with Pendry Newport Beach, our Creative Director, Patrick Greer, was tasked with transforming a compact meeting space into something special. “Initially, I found myself at a loss,” stated Patrick. “But I saw this as an opportunity to deviate from the norm… I envisioned converting the modest space into a life-sized jewelry box.”

And the RMC team did just that. Crystal walls bespoke to the event adorned the room, while fifteen, delicate dandelion chandeliers – suspended from custom shepherds’ hooks and each embedded with LED strips under Patrick’s control – illuminated the evening. “In collaboration with Pendry Newport Beach’s culinary team, we orchestrated a synchronized dance of lights and flavors,” Patrick continued. “With each course, the ambiance shifted; for instance, as the second course, beet risotto, was served, the room transformed into a rich ruby hue.”

Personalization was key to enhancing the guest experience. At every place setting, elegantly crafted name cards took the form of emerald-cut diamonds, adorned with a stripe of the guest’s birthstone, while the menu cards were tinted in corresponding birthstone colors. “Utilizing the guests’ birthstones in the design was a new experience for me, and it added a special, personalized element to the event,” Patrick said. “As attendees settled in for the four-course dinner, I took a moment to remind each of them of their invaluable presence in our industry – true gems in every sense of the word.”
